It has been a few days since my last update. Last week I went to a party on the Palm with some people from church – played ultimate frisbee oon the beach and swam in the gulf. Lots of really great people here.
The hosts of the party rented this big blowup slides for the kids. They loved it.
I have not taken many photos lately, mostly because I have spent much of my time at work.
Last night I went to get fish on the beach with some people from the office. It was nice to spend some time with some of my coworkers outside of work. I learned probably more than I wanted to know about the office gossip…although nothing I was not already aware of.
Instead of eating at the less-than-appealing tables at the restaurant, we took the fish to the beach.
This guy’s name is Obaid and he works in client relations. He is from Syria and his family has been very affected by the uprisings there. It is a very sad situation.
I almost forgot to mention that I had to leave the country last week in order to renew my visa. The firm sent me to Oman. Very uneventful – there and back within a few hours.
Last week I was in the marina area and passes two fur coat stores right next to each other. There is a fur coat market in Dubai, where the average daily temperature is in the high 80s.
I am still learning a lot at work and am continually thrown into new situations that challenge me. I really miss Heather and the boys – overall, this really does feel like a sacrifice and is not fun. I am hopeful that in some way this will all pay off.
