Lots of Light

The first thing I noticed about our apartment was that we have lots of indirect light. I’ve taken enough pictures of the boys that I can appreciate how nice it is to have so much indirect light! We have sooo much light, my goodness! I got my camera cleaned out before I moved and they changed all my settings on my camera. I love my back button. I am happy to have it programmed back. It’s nice having my settings back to the way I like them, I haven’t had a spare moment to just sit down with my camera for a few minutes. Today I sat down and just flicked through my settings and changed them back. I am happy. We still have a massive amount of un-packing but the house is actually somewhat liveable now.  I feel grateful that I can spend five or so minutes sitting by a window and document the kids briefly without putting much effort in. Light, it’s nice.

Dubai High: I love being able to get food delivered. Dubai doesn’t really have a tipping standard here. Tonight for example I had a couple bars of dark chocolate, and some peanut butter and jelly supplies delivered to the apartment. It cost me nothing for them to deliver, there is this European grocery store, Al Maya a block away and they deliver here in the DIFC.

Low: I’m still not eating the balanced diet that I should be. Jude’s bowels are having a hard time. This morning he actually woke up with some hives on his legs. Man…

IMG_5553Hello Mr. Calvin Klein model! Haha!

IMG_5329IMG_5464IMG_5432 IMG_5434Oh Royal James! I love you, love you. Oh you’re precious! He has such a happy personality.

IMG_5468 IMG_5495Any tips unpacking my house? We need to find a storage unit to store a few things, and I’m trying to make a place for everything. Moving is not my strong point. This has been the first day in Dubai that things have felt really liveable. We all have beds, our beds – and I am largely unpacked. Woot, woot! Hb is doing well guys!

IMG_5359Many more pictures of Dubai to come – I’ve been stuck inside a little more unpacking! So thankful to have a home base!

    • Gigi, I think you’re right. It’s hard to see but in the face it’s definitely there. I think it will be easier to see as he gets older. In some ways it’s like you can’t find him but I think it’s just because Royal’s young. As he gets older I think their face shapes and features will look identical.

  1. It’s so fun to catch up on all your latest adventures, Heath! As always, I’m in AWE of you! These pictures are unbelievable! Jude’s eyes are so, so stunning. ALL the boys’ eyes are amazing! I hope unpacking is coming along, I cant wait to see the finished product! I’m so sad we didn’t get to send you off in style. It was quite a wild few months for us. I’ll fill you in soon. Know that I love and adore you, I MISS YOU, and I think the world of you!

    • Elisabeth!

Okay, I can’t wait to be filled in. I want to hear everything! How you guys like it down there, how the kids are?! I wish I could have seen more of you two before we left. I just love you, and no matter where life takes us I will ALWAYS consider you such a dear friend! You never forget those friends you’ve made while being in the trenches of motherhood!! These are some wild and crazy days we are living in eh?! Love you, love you! Give my best to Tyler, Luke and of course Sadie Lady!

  2. Those boys have the most incredible eyes… Really, I can not say enough about how beautiful they are! Heather, I know I’ve told you that I love the blog, but now that you are on the other side of the world, my attachment to the blog has been magnified 1000-fold!!! I don’t know how we would survive without it! Dad and i check it several times a day! It is our lifeline to feeling connected to you. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for every post, every photo. We love all five of you so much and are so proud of the courage and the positive attitude you’ve displayed amidst all the chaos. You are one terrific lady, HB!!!!
